Exhibit highlight | We are aiming for the realization of fusion energy as a new energy source by recreating on earth the fusion reaction which occurs in the sun. The main characteristics of fusion energy are that it has a “limitless fuel supply”, is “environmentally friendly”, and is “highly safe”. Currently, the seven participating countries in the ITER project (China, Europe, India, Korea, Japan, Russia and the United States of America) are constructing the ITER experimental fusion reactor in France. Research and development are underway at the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST) to make fusion energy as the energy source of the future a reality. At our exhibition booth, we will show the progress of ITER construction and introduce the various components that Japan is in charge of manufacturing. |
